The IMechE’s Virtual Work Experience programme provides an insight into the engineering profession and the critical role of mechanical engineers in addressing global challenges. Find out what mechanical engineers do, what skills they need, and what opportunities are available to you.

Who it’s for

Anyone with an interest in engineering can join the virtual work experience - you don't need to be studying engineering at school or college. It is open to students from anywhere in the world.

The target age group is 14-16 years old.

How to register

The IMechE virtual work experience is available on Unifrog careers platform until June 2025.

You will need to access it via your school or college Unifrog account.
