MPDS is an accredited company scheme, which follows an agreed structured programme, which can facilitate developing engineers in reaching the competence requirements for professional registration.
Having an accredited MPDS will raise your organisation’s profile with graduate engineers and promote high standards of engineering.
We assess and accredit your company graduate scheme to ensure the right opportunities, monitoring and feedback are in place for developing engineers, and particularly graduates, to apply for CEng or IEng. Engineers from within your organisation who are already professionally registered will mentor those working towards registration. This not only builds the relationship between professional engineers and graduates, it also allow those who have already undergone registration to keep up their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Engineering businesses benefit from having professionally registered engineers – EngTech, IEng and CEng. MPDS is an efficient way of supporting your engineers since it’s based on your existing training and development strategy. There is ongoing support from our business development team – including workshops, presentations, individual feedback sessions and interview preparation. So applicants via MPDS have a very high success rate at professional review interviews, so it is good for the company and the engineers.
Meggitt views professional registration as essential for employees giving them the ability to adapt to the different technical specifications of their markets.

The Institution charges a fee of £750 plus VAT for all MPDS accreditation and re-accreditation applications, in keeping with the wider PEI sector who mostly charge for visits. The fee contributes towards administration and volunteer costs and helps us to continue to deliver a first-rate service for our Company partners. The Institution is also investing in improving the MPDS online tools. Where accreditation is sought outside the UK the Company seeking accreditation is required to cover all costs associated with the visit.
