American Society for Artificial Internal Organs 
The membership is a diverse group of specialists from 40 different countries with over 30 different professional degrees. These individuals represent government, universities, industry, private hospitals and independent research groups. The areas of nephrology, biomaterials and cardiopulmonary devices are heavily represented as well as numerous other specialised interests.

Association of British Healthcare Industries 
The Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) is the lead, and largest, industry association for the medical technology sector in the UK. 

Biomaterials Network 
This site seeks to link the biomaterials community worldwide. It includes a list of books, journal articles, websites, jobs and a monthly newsletter. Membership is free. 

Biomedical Engineering Society 
Links to its scientific journal - non members can view paper titles and abstracts. 

British Healthcare Trade Association (BHTA)
Trade association for healthcare and assistive technologies. 

British Orthopaedic Research Society
Multidisciplinary association devoted to pursuing research relevant to orthopaedic and musculoskeletal surgery. 

European Society for Artificial Organs 
Coordinates and develops research in Europe on artificial organs and represents the research in this field with the scientific institutions concerned. 

European Society for Biomaterials 
The European Society for Biomaterials was founded in March 1976, and became a member of the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Sciences and Engineering (IUS-BSE) at its conception in 1979.

European Society of Biomechanics 
The primary goal of the ESB is to encourage, foster, promote and develop research, progress and information concerning the science of Biomechanics. 

IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society
The world's largest international society of biomedical engineers. 

Institute of Biomedical Engineering 
The Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME) is a research institute of Oxford University's Department of Engineering Science.

Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (iMBE)
The Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (iMBE) is a department of Leeds University's School of Mechanical. 

Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine 
Promotes the advancement in physics and engineering for medical benefits. 

Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency 
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is the government agency which is responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work, and are acceptably safe. 

NICE Evidence Content
NICE Evidence provides access to selected, quality health and social care evidence and best practice. 

Royal Academy of Engineering Panel for Biomedical Engineering 
The Royal Academy of Engineering Panel for Biomedical Engineering provides a forum through which the principal organisations concerned with the field of biomedical engineering can communicate, debate and jointly act upon issues which affect the field as a whole. 

Royal College of Anaesthetists 
The College is the professional body responsible for the specialty of anaesthesia throughout the UK, and to ensure the quality of patient care through the maintenance of standards in anaesthesia, critical care and pain management. 

Royal College of Physicians 
The Royal College of Physicians is a registered charity that aims to ensure high quality care for patients by promoting the highest standards of medical practice. It provides and sets standards in clinical practice and education and training, conducts assessments and examinations, quality assures external audit programmes, supports doctors in their practice of medicine, and advises the Government, public and the profession on health care issues. 

Royal College of Radiologists 
The role of the College is to advance the science and practice of radiology and oncology, further public education and promote study and research through setting professional standards of practice. 

Royal College of Surgeons of England 
The Royal College of Surgeons of England is committed to enabling surgeons to achieve and maintain the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care. 

Royal Society of Medicine 
Provide accredited courses for continuing professional development, which is so vital in allowing doctors, dentists, veterinary surgeons and other healthcare professionals their continuing freedom to practise. 

Wellcome Trust 
The Wellcome Trust is an independent charity funding research to improve human and animal health. Established in 1936 and with an endowment of around £15 billion, it is the UK's largest non-governmental source of funds for biomedical research. 

Wolfson Foundation 
Charitable foundation that awards grants to back excellence in the fields of science and medicine, health, education, the arts and humanities.
