The day-to-day running of the Support Network is taken care of by a small team of full-time staff, assisted by a nationwide network of Volunteer Visitors, and governed by a Board of Trustees.

Support Network is governed by a Trustee Board of up to 13 people, who oversee the governance and strategic direction of the organisation. The Board is quite diverse, and has Trustees from both within the IMechE membership and from non-engineering backgrounds.

Due to the usual succession retirement of Trustees, for the governance year beginning July 2026, we have 3 vacancies, including a Treasurer/Finance Committee lead.

Support Network's full-time staff are Anni Broadhead, Chief Executive; Laura Clyne, Operations & Services Director; and Maureen Hayes, Support & Casework Officer.
They oversee the daily business of Support Network, as well as providing a point of contact for existing and prospective beneficiaries and volunteers. The staff organise the grants committee meetings, handle all new applications and constantly review the ways in which we offer support. The Chief Executive is also the Company Secretary and leads on data protection, safeguarding and other areas of legal compliance.
